Jeannie Mai and Jeezy are officially legally single.
Nine months after the rapper filed papers to end their more than two-year marriage, the pair have finalized their divorce, multiple outlets reported June 12. As part of their legal battle, Jeannie had accused her ex of abuse, which he denied.
The former The Real cohost and Jeezy (real name Jay Wayne Jenkins) reached a private divorce settlement over child support and custody of their daughter Monaco, 2, as well as spousal support and division of their property, according to documents from a Georgia court obtained by People.
E! News has reached out to attorneys for Jeannie and Jeezy for comment and has not heard back.
Jeezy filed for divorce from Jeannie last September, stating his filing, obtained by NBC News, that the marriage was "irretrievably broken" with "no hope for reconciliation."
The following month, the 46-year-old shared insight into his decision to end the marriage.
"The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart," Jeezy said in a statement obtained by E! News the following October. "Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart."
In the divorce filing, the rapper sought joint legal and physical custody of Monaco. "Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship," he said in his statement, "and I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves."
In a November filing, obtained by E! News, Jeannie appeared to suggest her ex was unfaithful to her during their marriage, writing that the court "should enforce" a section of their prenuptial agreement "regarding infidelity." Jeezy's rep told Us Weekly at the time that "any claim of infidelity on Mr. Jenkins' behalf are 100 percent false."
The following April, Jeannie alleged in another filing, also obtained by E! News, that she was concerned about "the safety and well-being" of their daughter while in Jeezy's care and custody since she first learned he was seeking a divorce. She alleged in the documents that Jeezy had struck her "with a closed fist across her cheekbone and eye, causing a subconjunctival hemorrhage" in January 2022, the same month their child was born.
Jeezy denied his ex's accusations of abuse. "The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved," he said in a statement to E! News April 25. "This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous."
"It's disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play and at this time my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandated joint custody," he continued. "Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels."
